Both Pixel 3 and 3 XL phones saw a price drop with the arrival of its 3a counterparts, but the full fat 3 models are now scarce to buy new, with retailers geared towards the Pixel 4. The Pixel 4 also has major discounts up to £170 on now, if you're willing to splurge a bit more.

Despite clocking in at a lower price, the 3a's build is close to the original Pixel 3, including the two-tone finish. The main difference is a slightly thicker bezel and the chin below the display. In terms of the internals, the 3a has a less powerful processor, but it was hardly noticeable in our review, where we found performance to be consistently smooth.

If you don't mind that the 3a range lacks wireless charging and waterproofing, the phone is an excellent option for anyone looking for a reliable smartphone on a budget.

The pricier Pixel 3a XL offers a larger screen and battery capacity, but that's essentially what you pay for. In fact, in our 3a XL review we recommended the 3a in terms of value for money (which is why it's snagged a top position in our best mid-range phones chart) – though now, £30 off might make the 3a XL more appealing.

Head to AmazonCarphone Warehouse or Currys PC World to pick up the discount on the 3a and 3a XL phones.
