Along with rivals, Dell has refreshed its Alienware range of gaming hardware for 2020 with upgrades including new Intel processors and Nvidia RTX or AMD graphics cards.

The new line-up includes the beastly Area-51m, thin m15 and m17 designs and the Aurora R11 with liquid cooled graphics. Plus, a preview of a new 360Hz gaming monitor. Dell also unveiled new XPS 15 and XPS 17 laptops.

Alienware Area-51m 2020

For starters, Dell is claiming the new Alienware Area-51m (above) as the world’s most powerful gaming laptop. This is thanks to its “desktop-class performance” with overclockable CPUs and GPUs.

It’s the first Alienware to come with a 10th-gen Intel Core S processor which has 10 cores, 20 threads and up to 5.3GHz with Thermal Velocity Boost.

Alienware gives a choice of either an AMD Radeon RX 5700M or up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super.

New Cryo-Tech cooling technology keeps the laptop cool with things like larger fans and a vapor chamber. You get a huge 17in screen with up to 4K Ultra HD resolution of Full HD at up to 300Hz.

It’s available 9 June with a starting price of US$3,049. In the UK, it will arrive on 23 June with a price TBC.

Alienware m15 & m17 R3

If the Area-m51 is overkill for you, or simply too expensive, then the latest m15 and m17 will be better suited.

These R3 models for 2020 come with up to 10th-gen Core i9 processors and Nvidia RTX 2080 Super graphics cards. You can also choose an AMD Radeon RX 5500M if you prefer.

Alienware m15 R3

Alienware says they are “among the thinnest and most powerful gaming laptops on the market.”

Available in ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ and ‘Lunar Light’ colours, they now have a new High Endurance Clear Coat for advanced stain resistance.

They are available on 21 May priced at US$1,499 or £1,349 for the m15 R3. The m17 R3 comes in at US$1,549 or £1,599.

Alienware Aurora R11

Desktop fans fear not, the Aurora R11 is here to satisfy your upgrade desires.

The striking unit has a new ambient light ring, but more importantly now has the option for liquid cooled graphics.

Alienware Aurora R11

This is the first time Alienware has offered PCI-e liquid cooling graphics on the Aurora and means up to a 19.5% temperature reduction and up to a 69.2% noise reduction. Available with the top-end RTX 2080 Super.

Other specs include up to 10th-gen Intel Core i9-10980HK processor, HyperX FURY XMP DDR4 memory and a massive optional 1000W power supply.

The Alienware Aurora R11 is available from 13 May starting at US$1,129. In the UK, it’s a longer wait until 21 July with no price details yet.

Dell says Additional configurations will be available on 28 May from $879.

Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor

Last but not least, Alienware has previewed it’s 25 Gaming Monitor which boasts a whopping 360Hz refresh rate - three times that of many monitors.

It’s an IPS panel that features Nvidia G-Sync and comes in at 24.5in.

The only other details we have are that it will be available in Dark Side of the Moon colour and arrive later this year in fall 2020 (autumn).
