TVs like Panasonic’s JZ200 might often be the star of the show at CES but the firm has a soundbar that Final Fantasy fans will be extremely tempted by.

Designed in collaboration with Square Enix, the award-winning SoundSlayer SC-HTB01 is now available in a Final Fantasy special edition. It’s been named as a CES 2021 Innovation Awards Honoree in the Headphones & Personal Audio category.

As well as the Final Fantasy XIV Online branding and artwork emblazoned in white, the soundbar has three special gaming modes developed with the Final Fantasy sound team.

The first is especially for RPGs (role playing games) like FF Online with a “sense of reality and intensity, enabling gamers to feel as if they were inside of the game's virtual world.”

There’s also an FPS (first person shooter) mode with accurate audio location so you can locate enemies within the game as well as a voice mode which enhances human vocals in adventure games.

Panasonic’s SoundSlayer is a 2.1 speaker in a compact design and offers a range of audio tech including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and DTS: Virtual X.

“The combination of these audio technologies creates a 3D stereophonic technology system and acoustic space that envelopes the play in every direction.” said Panasonic.

There’s no price or release date for the Final Fantasy special edition yet but the regular SoundSlayer SC-HTB01 comes it at $299 or around £279 to give you an idea.
