OnePlus has announced the 8T smartphone range and as expected, has also introduced the Buds Z wireless earbuds too.

It hasn’t been long since the firm launched the OnePlus Buds, so these are certainly not 2nd-gen OnePlus Buds 2 if that’s what you were thinking. No, instead they are a cheaper version for anyone who can’t afford the full-on Buds.

When is the OnePlus Buds launch date?

There’s not long to wait for the OnePlus Buds Z as they will be available on 4 November.

How much do the OnePlus Buds Z cost?

As mentioned earlier, the Buds Z are a cheaper alternative to the £79 OnePlus Buds.

You can get them from OnePlus for a price of £55/US$49. If you want to see what the OnePlus Buds Z will be up against, read our roundup of the best budget wireless earbuds.

What are the OnePlus Buds Z specs?

OnePlus say the Buds Z are designed to “deliver an elevated musical experience for users on the go” and to achieve this they have 10mm dynamic drivers. There’s also support for Dolby Atmos 3D stereo for an ‘immersive soundstage’.

Importantly, they have a traditional in-ear design, unlike the semi-open style Buds that are more like AirPods.

The firm says the wireless earbuds offer 20 hours of total battery life and a 10-minute charge will give you three hours of audio playback – or ‘vibrant audio’ in OnePlus’ words.

The Buds Z run on Bluetooth 5.0 and have environmental noise reduction for voice pickup during phone calls.

As confirmed ahead of the launch event, the Buds Z are offer IP55 waterproof rating keeping them resistant to sweat and splashes. OnePlus says Quick Pair delivers “exceptional sound when taking a conference call, watching a movie or simply enjoying music on the go”.

There’s also Quick Switch which allows you to ‘stay in control’ with a double-tap.

They come in either white or a special-edition colourway by Steven Harrington. They have a ‘polished seashell’ pattern and come with three sizes of silicone ear tips.
