Gamescom: Opening Night Live is the flashy headline opening event added to the giant German games show last year. And while Gamescom might be a little different this year - it's all digital, for starters - that doesn't mean that Opening Night Live is going anywhere.

The show must go on, and so Geoff Keighley and crew will be back for a two-hour event today featuring more than 20 upcoming games, including new reveals and plenty of never-before-seen footage and gameplay.

Here's when Opening Night Live starts, how to watch it live, and what to expect.

What time is Gamescom: Opening Night Live 2020?

Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event is due to take place today, Thursday 27 August 2020, kicking off a three-day program of Gamescom events. The action will begin at 20:00 CEST, which translates to:

  • 14:00 EST
  • 11:00 PST

The event is set to run for a little over two hours, though if that's somehow not enough there'll also be a pre-show that kicks off half an hour beforehand, as well as a post-show to dissect some of the biggest announcements.

How to watch Opening Night Live

The good news is that you can tune in to the Gamescom 2020 opening night action live via Twitch, alongside YouTube and the Gamescom website itself. To make things even easier, we've embedded the stream right at the top of this page too.
