BullGuard is unleashing the 2018 editions of its various online security applications, which it says offer consumers the best protection yet.
You don’t have to take their word for it though - the company has teamed up with Tech Advisor to offer our readers a slightly ridiculous 1,000 free copies of BullGuard Internet Security 2018 - just head here to get a year of free protection.
So, what exactly do you get? There’s what the company calls 'next-gen' protection from viruses, malware, spyware, ransomware - all the wares. Internet Security also includes a firewall, parental controls, and a vulnerability scanner that the company claims can identify weak spots in your network, like missing security updates or insecure Wi-Fi networks.
There's also a Game Booster mode, which offers similar functionality to the Game Mode included in the Windows 10 Creators Update: while you're playing a game it pushes non-priority tasks to a single CPU core, allowing the rest of your processor to focus on the game itself, hopefully boosting performance. Unlike the built-in Windows feature, BullGuard's take should run automatically when you start playing a game, and doesn't interfere with apps with audio, so shouldn't lower performance of any chat apps you're using at the same time.
All of that would normally set you back £49.95/$59.95, but as we said, you can get it for the low, low price of free. Just head here to sign up, but you might want to be quick - once those 1,000 licenses are gone, they’re gone, and it’s first-come-first-serve.
You’ll get access to Internet Security 2018 for one year, after which you’re free to extend your subscription, or just cancel it entirely. The license is just for a single device, but you’ll have the option to pay to extend it to other computers, phones, or tablets.
