Black Friday is here. And if you've been thinking about treating yourself - or someone else - to a robot vacuum cleaner, now's the best time. At full price, they can be expensive so it’s no wonder you’re hunting for the best deals. And you’re in luck because there are some big discounts for Black Friday, making now a great time to buy one.

Robot vacuum cleaners are useful gadgets, cleaning your home so you don’t have to and they can even work while you’re out.

As with so many products, you tend to get what you pay for with robotic hoovers so we’d recommend avoiding the cheapest, basic models that probably won’t live up to your expectations. Instead, use these deals to buy a better model than you might otherwise have done – you’ll thank us later.

More advanced models can map out your home and more efficiently clean it, whereas cheaper ones won’t and they often lack the suction power necessary to remove dirt from carpets and rugs.

Features such as self-charging mean there’s no worry of running out of power, and they should also be able to tackle small obstacles such as thresholds to move between rooms. None can traverse staircases, though, so you’ll have to give them a helping hand if you want multiple levels cleaned.

Where to find robot vacuum cleaner deals

Although we’ve rounded up the best deals we could find, stock levels and availability changes quickly – especially around Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so it’s well worth going direct to the following retailers to see what’s on offer right now.

UK retailers:

US retailers:

1. Eufy RoboVac 11S

From: Amazon

Was: £189.99

Now: £119.99  (37% off)

A super-slim robot vac with 1300PA and up to 100 minutes' cleaning time.

That means it's an entry-level model, but if you're on a tight budget, this Black Friday deal knocks 37% off. And that makes it a lot more affordable than paying full price.

If you're in the US, the RoboVac 11s is $137.98 (down from $229.99) on Amazon.

2. Eufy RoboVac 30C

From: Amazon

Was: £219.99

Now: £139.99  (£80 off)

The 30C from Eufy currently sits atop our list of the best smart robot vacuum cleaners, and we gave 4.5/5 stars in our review.

It can be controlled via Alexa if you have an Echo speaker, or simply the Alexa app on your phone.

This is the lowest price we've ever seen it, and it's a saving of £80 off the RRP.

3. iRobot Roomba i1+

From: Walmart

Was: $599

Now: $349  ($150 off)

Usually you might associate Roombas with very high prices, but the i1+ is a more affordable robot vacuum that can empty its own dustbin, then carry on cleaning.

Walmart has discounted it from $599 to $349, making this a rather good Black Friday deal.

It's compatible with Alexa, but more importantly has good suction and dual rubber brushes so it can clean on different types of surfaces and shouldn't get tangled with hair.

4. Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo 920

From: Amazon

Was: £450

Now: £269  (£181 off)

We think this is an excellent robot vac even at full price, so this is an amazing deal for Black Friday.

You can often accuse Amazon of inflating the RRP to make a deal look better, but in this case it is under-selling the 920 deal. When we originally reviewed it, it was £450, yet Amazon's RRP is £399.

Whatever, the deal price of £269 is very tempting for this capable vacuum cleaner. It is  more capable than some rivals at climbing over thresholds and other objects, and is just 10cm tall, so it get get underneath furniture. Mopping, sadly, is not its strong suit.

It uses a Lidar system to navigate and you can tell it to avoid specific areas.

5. iRobot Roomba 692 Smart Robot Vacuum

From: Amazon

Was: $299

Now: $199  ($100 off)

Save $100 on this entry-level smart robot vacuum that can be controlled remotely and programmed.

It can clean for 90 minutes before returning to its dock to recharge. You can control it with your voice via Alexa and will intelligently avoid obstacles and stairs.

Compared to more expensive Roomba models, it has 'standard' suction power.

6. Roborock S4 Max

From: Amazon

Was: $429.99

Now: $279.99  ($150 off)

Roborock is a sub-brand of Xiaomi and makes good quality robot cleaners.

The S4 Max can map out your home and intelligently clean its rooms, so long as it can (like all robo vacuums) get across thresholds between rooms)

Via the app you can set up no-go zones and it will avoid dangerous drops like stairs.

It has 2000Pa of suction and up to 180 minutes of runtime. At this price, it's a great deal.

7. Eufy Robovac X8

From: Amazon

Was: £4449.99

Now: £379.99  (£120 off)

Anker-owned Eufy's X8 Hybrid is a robo vac that can vacuum your floors as well as mop them. As with others that have a water tank and microfibre cloth, the X8 can't match the kind of thorough cleaning that a human with a mop can.

But its vacuuming is much more impressive, as its ability to handle more than one map of your home. This means it can map out your upstairs and downstairs and automatically recognise where it is.

For Black Friday you can get £120 off the RRP, but if you don't want to bother with the mopping function, then you could instead go for the standard X8 which doesn't have it. That's also £120 off, making it £329.99 after the discount.

8. Neato Robotics Botvac D8 Connected Wi-Fi Robot Vacuum

From: Amazon

Was: £560.28

Now: £379.99  (32% off)

Amazon's RRP here might be a little on the high side, but regardless of whether this is truly a 32% discount, £379.99 is a good price for the D8 - one step up the ladder from the D7, one of the best robot vacuums we've reviewed.

At their full prices, Neato robot hoovers aren't the best value, but on sale, they can be good buys. One of the biggest advantages is the D8's flat edge (it's a D shape - hence the name) which helps it clean against walls and into corners more effectively than completely round robot vacuums.

Its overall cleaning prowess is good and while some will say it doesn't offer enough features, it does the basics well. Sure, it won't mop your floors, but show us a robot vacuum that's any good at that particular task.
