After a long wait, the Apple TV line is finally getting an upgrade. The next generation of the Apple TV 4K is due to hit shelves soon, and will boast the new A12 Bionic chip, support for HDR content with high frame rates and a brand-new Siri remote control.
Most of the core things about the 6th generation Apple TV will remain the same. You’ll still get the same interface, and the ability to access the likes of Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple Music, Apple Fitness+ and more.
When will the new Apple TV release?
There’s not long to wait now, because the 2021 Apple TV 4K will release sometime in the 'second half of May' – we’re still waiting on the specific day.
If you want the Apple TV 4K as soon as it's available, you can purchase it right now. As of Friday 30 April 2021, the device is eligible for pre-order.

Where can I pre-order the Apple TV 4K in the UK and US?
We we haven't heard anything about pre-orders from third-party retailers, although it'll likely be available from big stores once it goes on sale. We're talking Amazon, Argos and Currys in the UK, as well as Best Buy and Target in the US.
