Dell’s gaming sub-brand Alienware has announced two new high-speed monitors with refresh rates of up to 360Hz and new Legend 2.0 design features.
First up is the Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor (or AW2523HF going by its model number) which has been designed with feedback from pro gamers in mind. The Legend 2.0 design has a smaller hexagonal base to keep the desktop footprint down.
Alienware says this gives users more flexibility when it comes to keyboard and mouse placement on the desk and, for the first time, the monitor has a built-in retractable headphone stand for ease. As it’s on the left, the headset’s microphone neatly sits behind the screen.
The panel itself is an IPS Full HD display and offers a speedy variable refresh rate of 360Hz, matching the likes of the MSI Oculux NXG253R and Asus ROG Swift PG259QNR as well as older versions of the 25 Gaming Monitor.
It’s also got a 0.5ms GtG (grey to grey) response time and offers AMD FreeSync Premium support as well as Vesa AdaptiveSync certification. “Experience stutter- and tear-free gaming and crystal-clear graphics, even during action-packed sequences,” said Alienware.
The Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor will be available on 7 September for $449.99/£399.

If 25in isn’t enough real estate, then perhaps the Alienware 27 Gaming Monitor (AW2723DF) will appeal with its combination of “premium performance with functional design”.
This is once again an IPS gaming monitor but with a higher Quad HD resolution and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro as well as Nvidia G-Sync and Vesa AdaptiveSync.
You’ll have to settle for a lower refresh rate of 240Hz native (which can be overclocked to 280Hz) and a slightly slower 1ms GtG response time.
Alienware says the monitor offers 95% of the DCI-P3 colour spectrum as well as Vesa DisplayHDR 600 certification for “a truly immersive gaming experience”.
The Creator Mode allows you to switch between DCI and sRGB colour spaces and adjust the gamma level, potentially making it the ideal display for work and play if you’re a designer, photographer or a similar creative.
The 27 Gaming Monitor also features the Legend 2.0 design in a Lunar Light colourway including AlienFX lighting, 360-degree ventilation, improved cable management and a fully adjustable stand. As per the 25in model, there’s a built-in headphone stand.
This model will be available on 6 October for $649.99/£519.
