The Surface Pro 8 delivers huge upgrades to Microsoft’s flagship 2-in-1, establishing it as the best Windows tablet you can buy. But that’s reflected in a higher starting price – from £999 – with the crucial keyboard cover still sold separately.
Many people are understandably reluctant to pay that sort of money, but this huge Amazon Prime Day deal means you don’t have to. For today only, you can get the Intel Core i5 model with 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD for just £616.55.
That’s an astounding £382.45 off the RRP – the lowest price it’s ever been by far. You will need to have a Prime membership, but Amazon offers a free 30-day trial if you haven’t signed up before, and it can be cancelled before any payment is taken.
But even if you don’t want to get Prime, there’s still a great deal available. At £649, it’s a £350 saving on the RRP. Whichever you choose, you’ll be able to buy a Signature Type Cover (£55 off for Prime members) and Slim Pen 2 (£25 off for Prime members) and still have around £150 to spare.
Put simply, the Surface Pro 8 is the best 2-in-1 you can buy – provided you also get a Type Cover. It’s a great solution for on-the-go productivity, offering laptop-like functionality or a pure tablet experience within one device. In our 4.5 star review, we praised its 120Hz display, solid performance and impressive battery life. Price was the main sticking point, but that’s no longer an issue.
But if you’re seriously considering this deal, don’t wait around for too long. It expires at midnight tonight in the UK, although the non-Prime Day discount may be around for longer.
