Apple’s AirPods Max are a striking pair of over-ear headphones, sporting Apple’s signature design in a mostly metal body – a unique feature among wireless headphones – and high-quality audio to match. But, Apple being Apple, the AirPods Max are pricy with a £549 RRP, almost double that of most competitors.
That’s what makes a new deal from Amazon all the more tempting; knocking £169 off the AirPods Max, Apple’s high-end cans are available in the attractive Sky Blue finish for just £380 in the UK.

Other colour variants are also discounted, ranging from £409 – £421 depending on the finish you opt for, but the Sky Blue finish is the most affordable available at the time of writing. It’s not clear when the deal will end, but if you’re tempted, act quickly.
Though £380 isn’t quite the cheapest the AirPods Max have ever been – they were slightly cheaper at £374 during eBay’s autumn 2021 sale – it still represents a great saving on Apple’s top-end headphones for those that have been waiting for the price to drop before investing.
We were largely impressed by the AirPods Max when we reviewed the headphones at release, praising the unique design and impressive audio quality, though there are some features that some might not appreciate. As noted in our four-star AirPods Max review:
“The design is sophisticated, and the use of stainless steel immediately makes the AirPods Max feel like a luxury item, but the cans are much heavier than most options, and in true Apple fashion, doesn’t even have a power button – Apple decides when you aren’t using the headphones, apparently.
Crucially, the audio performance is truly next level, offering a wide, balanced soundscape with impressive audio separation, allowing me to experience new sounds in old songs for the first time. It’s not quite audiophile-level, and there’s no true Lossless support, but for the everyday consumer, it’ll be a transformative experience.”
