Does Eternals have a post-credits scene?
Eternals has two post-credits scenes, so we recommend sticking around through all the credits until you’ve seen two extra scenes.
If you’d like to know what they are, keep on reading. And of course, this is your spoiler warning for the end of Eternals.
Eternals post-credits scenes explained
The first scene takes place after the animated credits have finished.
After Sersi (Gemma Chan) successfully stops a Celestial from emerging and destroying Earth, Thena (Angelina Jolie), Makkari (Lauren Ridloff) and Druig (Barry Keoghan) are travelling in space to find other Eternals and reveal the truth about their origins and purpose.
However, their search is interrupted by the arrival of two new characters who appear out of a vortex. One is Pip the Troll (voiced by Patten Oswalt), who announces the arrival of another Eternal, who also happens to be the brother of Thanos.
His name is Eros, AKA Starfox, and he’s played by Harry Styles. Yes, that Harry Styles. Eros warns the Eternals that they are in great danger, but he can help them with what they need. That’s the end of the first scene.
In the comics, Eros is very different from his Mad Titan brother. He’s a hedonistic being, and also a womanizer. His main power is the ability to control people’s emotions, but he also shares the same long life, enhanced healing and super strength and speed as his fellow Eternals.
The second post-credits scene takes place after all the credits have rolled.
It shows Dane Whitman (Kit Harrington), who is also known as the Black Knight. He opens a case that contains a weapon known as the Ebony Blade. He seems apprehensive to hold the sword, and just as he goes to do it, a voice says, “Sure you’re ready for that, Mr. Whitman?”.
That voice belongs to Mahershala Ali, who will play the vampire hunter (and half-vampire himself) Blade, in the movie titled with the same name.
In comic lore, Dane has a blood lineage spanning from the legend of King Arthur, and has warrior powers that come from the Ebony Blade. However, over time the blade wears down his sanity and sense of good. Dane starts to hint to Sersi his true origins at the end of Eternals but is interrupted by Arishem.
Dane also has a connection with Blade, so this post-credits scene is undoubtedly telling us that Harrington will co-star alongside Ali in Blade when it eventually releases.
After the scene ends, the film concludes with a screen confirming that Eternals will return, so a sequel will eventually be on the way – likely in Phase 5.
