Microsoft is one of a number of retailers slashing prices this Back to School season. Many of the best deals focus on its student-friendly laptops and 2-in-1s, but great offers can be found across the range. What’s more, they aren’t limited to those in full-time education – anyone can benefit from these low prices.
The most significant saving you’ll find is on the
Surface Pro 7 Essentials Bundle, which pairs the i5/8GB/256GB model with a Signature Type Cover, alongside Microsoft 365 Personal for 15 months and a protective sleeve. This will set you back
£1178.98 – that’s a £289.99 saving on the £1,468.97 you’d expect to pay separately.

However, there are also some steep discounts on more budget-friendly devices. The top-spec
Surface Laptop Go (i5/8GB/256GB) is down to
£769 from its usual £899, while the total savings increase to
£146 when bundling it with Microsoft 365 Personal (for 15 months) and a Bluetooth mouse. Price was the main reason we couldn’t recommend the Laptop Go, but these hefty discounts mean you’ll be hard-pressed to find something better for the price.

The
Surface Go 2 is another device worth considering. It’s extremely lightweight and portable, making it a great option for on-the-go productivity. You can now get the tablet itself, a Type Cover, protective sleeve and Microsoft 365 Personal for 15 months for under £500 – that’s an absolute steal. If you do need some extra power, even the top-spec Intel Core M3 (8GB RAM, 128GB SSD) is available for less than £800.
See the Surface Go 2 page for more options.

With Windows 11 just around the corner, there’s understandably some hesitancy when it comes to buying a Windows 10 device right now. But you don’t need to worry here. All the latest Surface PCs meet Windows 11’s new hardware requirements, so will be eligible for a free upgrade to the new OS when it arrives.
On the subject of software, it’s worth noting that students and teachers can get Microsoft’s Office 365 apps for free. To get started, you’ll just need an email address linked to your place of education.
Despite being part of Microsoft’s Back to School sale, these discounts are available to everyone. However, students, parents and educators are eligible for up to 10% off all year round, and it applies to every Surface PC bought via the Microsoft Store. Just make sure you’re aware of the Terms and Conditions.
One thing that’s not yet clear is how long the Back to School pricing will last. If you were considering picking up a new Surface PC in time for the next academic year, we’d encourage you not to delay – now is the perfect time to pick up a new device.
