With Amazon Prime kicking off early than usual this year, product launches and mobile announcements took something of a back seat, however, there were still a number of developments worth picking up on that we discuss on this week’s show.
There’s talk of a 4G-toting Snapdragon 888 chipset making its way into Huawei’s forthcoming P50 series, we get our first look at the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 4 (in render form), the Realme GT finally launched, Sony published pre-order pricing for its next flagship – the Xperia 1 III, the UK tested an emergency alert system that had Android phones sounding an alarm, Nothing’s Ear 1 is coming to UK luxury retailer Selfridges and, among other things, Mobvoi introduced the second Wear OS watch on the market with a Snapdragon Wear 4100.
Meanwhile, Apple has apparently halted production of the iPhone 12 Mini earlier than initially expected, due to lacklustre sales, asking the question, “do users like the idea of a small powerful smartphone, more than the reality of one?”
Lastly, Chris Martin shares his thoughts on reviewing the latest Fire HD 10 series tablets and we discuss Amazon’s place in the tablet market, as well as the wider segment as a whole.
You can watch it all in the video embedded above, or head straight to YouTube to watch it there (and subscribe if you fancy!).
