Sky has an upgrade to its voice search feature for Sky Q TV users, improving the experience with a better algorithm and support for more apps.
Never content to leave things standing still, Sky is bringing yet another update to its Sky Q platform. The useful voice search feature now includes results from Sky, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and the BBC – the latter three being new additions.
Asking ‘What should I watch’ will now give you many more recommendations, opening a page of results with sections such as ‘Because you watched’ and ‘New series for You’ as well as the following:
- Top 10 this week on Sky
- Popular on Netflix
- Popular on Prime Video
- More favourites
- Trending on Sky Cinema
- Trending on Sky Sports
- Continue Watching
Furthermore, the Sky Q voice search facility – made possible with a dedicated button and microphone on the remote control – can now respond to “Get ready for 2021” or “Sky Unmissable,” which takes you to a collection of trailers.
If you don’t have a Sky Q Voice remote yet then you can claim a free one via the My Sky app. Head to the Sky VIP tab in the bottom right corner and you’ll see the offer.
