Motorola Moto E7 release date, price, specs and more

Motorola's new most affordable phone to date - the Moto E7 - has landed, sporting improved low light camera capabilities and a low price tag

Taking the torch from the E-series phones that Motorola launched at the start of the year, the newly-announced Moto E7 offers up a promising set of features for less than £100.

The Moto E6s has served as one of the best budget offerings this year, particularly in the under-£150 price bracket. Motorola, confusingly, had already announced the Moto E7 Plus just last month but the new E7 shaves off some mAh from its battery capacity and makes a few other compromises to, rather impressively, push its price below a threshold of £100.

How much does the Moto E7 cost?

When we say “less than £100” the Moto E7 costs £99.99 in the UK, and while that’s only just below three figures, it doesn’t detract from the fact that there seems to be a lot of smartphone here for the price.

For reference, the beefier Moto E7 Plus costs £129.99.

When is the Moto E7 available to buy?

The Moto E7 was announced on 24 November and is available to pick up in the UK from Motorola’s own site and at Tesco, starting 1 December, however, wider availability from other retailers, including Amazon, Argos, Carphone Warehouse, EE, John Lewis and O2 will kick off from January 2021.

The Satin Coral colour is exclusive to Motorola’s own site, while the phone can be had elsewhere in Mineral Grey and Aqua Blue.

The Moto E7 Plus is available now from Motorola’s website and online sellers such as Amazon.

What features does the Moto E7 offer?

While the Moto E7 may look very similar to its namesake in the existing Plus model, there are a few notable differences that help bring the price down.

Motorola is keen to push that the E7 will offer up to 36 hours of use per charge (roughly a day and a half) and boasts a quad-pixel 48Mp camera that totes superior low light performance to its predecessor.

It’s worth noting that such affordability means features like NFC have been left out of the Moto E7 equation but the newer standard E7 does at least benefit from a more modern USB-C connection, compared to the Plus’ dated microUSB port.
