After partnering with Huawei on the Sound X speaker, premium audio firm Devialet has announced its first pair of true wireless earbuds.
The Devialet Gemini boast long battery life, wireless charging and best-in-class Active Noise Cancellation. They cost £279 and are available to pre-order starting tomorrow, 10 October, with full availability to be announced soon.
Ken McAlpine, Devialet’s CTO, said: “Our award-winning team of Hardware, Software and Signal Processing Engineers has worked tirelessly to create a product centred around pristine audio performance, best-in-class ANC, and adaptability to suit any listener. ”
Best-in-class ANC means the Gemini will go up against Sony’s WF-1000XM3, Bose QC Earbuds and Apple AirPods Pro earbuds. Devialet’s system offers three levels of noise cancelling as well as two levels of Transparency Mode for when you need to hear your surroundings.
The firm also touts its new Ear Active Matching technology which aims to deliver “enhanced signal transmission by adjusting audio signal frequency ranges in real-time,” to avoid loss of sound when turning your head or running.
The design is reminiscent of the firm’s iconic Phantom speakers and inside the earbuds are 10mm high excursion drivers and Pressure Balance Architecture means that “Cascading decompression chambers inside the product ensure the ideal inner pressure, at all times, without impairing noise attenuation,”
When it comes to battery life Devialet promises 8 hours from the Gemini (or 6 hours with ANC on) and a further 3.5 charges in the charging case, which itself has Qi wireless charging and the battery inside is replaceable.
