Instagram users can now create QR codes which others can scan and be taken to your account. Simply by scanning the code, people will have access to your photo stream, all without the need for usernames or any other details.
Here, we’ll show you step by step how to create a QR code for your Instagram account.
Why create a QR code for my Instagram account?
Fair question. For some people this new feature won’t have much appeal, but it’s a very easy way for those who run businesses on Instagram to promote their feed. Once the QR code is created it can be posted to websites, social media, or even printed out a placed in visible place in the real world. Then, interested parties can scan the code and are instantly transported to your account.
In these days of Covid-19, it’s also any easy way to swap account details without the need to write stuff down or even talk.
How can I create a QR code for Instagram?
Making your own QR code is very easy. Open the Instagram app on your phone and tap on your account icon in the bottom right corner. On the next page, tap the three lines in the top right corner to open the menu, then from the list that appears select the QR code option.
You’ll now be presented with your own personal QR code. To save it, you can either take a screenshot (usually pressing the power and volume down buttons at the same time) or tap the Share icon in the top right corner.
The latter opens a list of all the apps you have installed with which you can share the code. Simply pick the one that most suits your needs and you should find that people can now scan it to find your Instagram feed.
