Fed up of wireless earbuds? Well, check out Sennheiser’s new Anniversary Edition of one of its most popular pairs of headphones, the HD 800 S.
Audiophiles don’t have to wait long for the headphones as they arrive on 22 September but will have to have fingers at the ready as there are only 750 pairs available worldwide. The limited-edition HD 800 S Anniversary Edition headphones are priced at £1,399.
Sennheiser is celebrating 75 years of audio innovation and the HD 800 S promise one of the highest quality experiences around. The over-ear cans offer a huge frequency range of 4- to 51,000Hz and the 56mm transducer is made of Sennheiser’s patented duofol-transducer material.
This is to “ensure exact music reproduction and reduction of resonances, keeping total harmonic distortion to less than 0.02 percent.”
Furthermore, you get Sennheiser’s absorber technology which avoids unwanted peaks in the frequency response. The HD 800 S Anniversary Edition also direct sound at the ear at a slight angle to give a spacious soundstage.
The HD 800 S Anniversary Edition arrives in an exclusive matt gold colour with each unit sporting a laser engraved serial number on the headband. They’re made from a combination of glass-fibre strengthened plastic, vegan velour material and stainless-steel mesh.
“Our reference headphones HD 800 S are a testament to this passion that has been driving us for 75 years. They are cherished by audiophiles all over the world, so we wanted to celebrate our anniversary with a collector’s edition of this very special model,” said Dr. Andreas Sennheiser, co-CEO of Sennheiser.
