The wait is over, Motorola’s Razr 5G foldable smartphone is here making improvements on the original 2019 model all while offering this 2020 edition for a lower price.
Foldable smartphones are still in their infancy and early adopters of 1st-gen devices may well have regretted it. However, Motorola seems to have put that in the past and got on with making the Razr 5G the kind of phone the original should have been.

When is the Motorola Razr 5G release date?
As we expected, it wasn’t long to wait for the “early Autumn” release of the Razr 5G, which officially went on sale 22 September.

How much does the Motorola Razr 5G cost?
There’s good news on this front, as the Razr 5G is cheaper than its predecessor, by £100. So you can buy it for £1,399.
Base on Vodafone, getting it on contract costs from £71pm with a £29 up-front cost.
You’ll also be able to buy it from O2, Tesco Mobile, John Lewis, Carphone Warehouse, Amazon.
What are the Motorola Razr 5G specs?
The Motorola 5G, as it’s named in Europe anyway, looks pretty darn similar to the original 2019 model. This is because the firm has essentially taken that initial device and refined it.
In terms of design, the phone is a bit more compact and lighter. It’s now made of a combination of polished 3D glass and 7000 series aluminium. The chin is more tapered and the fingerprint scanner has been moved to the back.
A new, upgraded hinge which features things like moving support plates and is made from stainless steel. Motorola promises it’s good for 200,000 flips, or in other words, over five years of use based on 100 flips per day (which is a lot).
The display is still 6.2in pOLED with the same specs, as is the 2.7in Quick View on the outside. However, some software improvements make the outer one more useful. It means supports more apps, you can swipe to quickly access the camera or favourites and it now supports Android 10 gesture navigation.
Furthermore, My UX gives users more control over the phone with the ability to choose custom settings and advance controls, themes, icon shapes, fonts which apply to both displays. This is also where you’ll find existing features like Moto Display and Moto Actions.
Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor so it’s still not a flagship 800-series chip but has proven to offer smooth performance on other phones. As the name gives away, the phone supports 5G connectivity thanks to the Snapdragon.
Both cameras have also received an upgrade so the outer camera jumps to 48Mp meaning Motorola is calling it the “the most advanced selfie camera” since you can use it when the phone is shut. Inside, there’s a secondary 20Mp camera.
