We might not be in Berlin for IFA this year but TP Vision has still got a load of new products to tempt you with including a new flagship OLED+935 TV with sound by Bowers & Wilkins.
The new TV will be available starting this month in 55- and 65in sizes, then a much smaller option of 48in will arrive in October. Prices start at £1,800 and reach £2,700 at the top end.
Philips says it has “set new standards for performance in the TV market” with the OLED+935 largely thanks to its combination of technology. This includes a 3.1.2 sound system, 4-sided Ambilight and the new P5 AI processor.
The firm might have announced a range of new soundbars (and headphones) but there’s no need to worry about that with the 935 as premium sound comes integrated thanks to Bowers & Wilkins. The sound system combines Dolby Atmos Elevation speakers with unique ‘Tweeter-on-Top’ technology.
Ambilight is a big lure for Philips TVs and is a key reason customers stay loyal to the brand. The immersive LED lighting reacts to what’s on the screen and the OLED+935 has it on all four sides.
Behind the scenes, the P5 processor now comes with a second dedicated AI chip takes care of “producing the most natural, realistic and lifelike images of any TV”.
As you might expect, this is a 4K Ultra HD TV with HDR support (HDR10, HLG (Hybrid-Log Gamma) HDR10 + and Dolby Vision).
There are new Pure Cinema and Movie motion modes as well and Android TV (based on version 9) is promised to be smooth in operation thanks to 3GB of RAM.
There’s also a new anti-burn feature which keeps an eye on 32,400 zones to see if anything is too static like a channel logo. If something is detected then will gradually reduce the intensity of its local light and avoid burn for 95% of situations.
