Amazon has announced that its Summer Sale is now on and will run from today until Sunday 12 July.
Highlights from today’s offers include 30% off a selection of Lego and Duplo, up to 15% off HP gaming laptops, and up to 40% off speakers from Ultimate Ears.
There are plenty of phones on offer too. You could also save £120 on the brand-new Xiaomi Mi 10, bringing one of the year’s best phones down to just £579. If that’s still a little dear for you, the Oppo Reno 2 is only £269 – down from £340 normally, and an RRP of £449. Not bad for a phone we gave 4 stars.
If you want to spend even less, the Realme 5 Pro is just £211 – a saving of nearly £50 on a very solid budget option.
It’s thought that Amazon is postponing its usual July Prime Day sale as it starts to assess how its delivery network will cope with a sales event. By putting this Summer Sale on now, the company will be able to see if customers are buying and if Amazon can deliver the majority of packages on time.
The company’s delivery schedules have been affected worldwide by the coronavirus pandemic. The Summer Sale was rumoured back in late May when the New York Times reported Amazon’s plans.
Amazon is said to be prepping for an October Prime Day instead. Despite the name, Prime Day discounts tend to run for a week or so and in past years have included popular savings on big ticket items like the Nintendo Switch.
