Disney+ no longer offers a free trial period, meaning you’ll have to pay straight away if you want to watch anything on the service. (via CNET).
Since the streaming platform launched last year a free seven-day trial has been offered, akin to those on rival services, and it was even stingier than Netflix’s 30-day free offer. That said, Disney+’s £5.99 per month price is very competitive.
A Disney spokeswoman confirmed to CNET the company had scrapped the offer, saying: “The service was set at an attractive price-to-value proposition that we believe delivers a compelling entertainment offering on its own.” Indeed.
It means if you want to catch the long-awaited TV debut of the musical Hamilton on July then you’ll have to pay up. Disney+ also has a full archive of all of Disney’s previous films, as well as Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars movies that Disney owns.
