If the VivoBook is Asus’ everyday laptop line, then ZenBook is the company pushing the boundaries a little more.
That’s reflected in its refreshed lineup for 2020, complete with claims as the world’s thinnest laptops with a full selection of ports.
All three new ZenBook devices come with an HDMI and USB-A port, in addition to Thunderbolt-enabled USB-C ports and a microSD card slot. The ZenBook 13 is just 13.9mm thin, while the ZenBook 14 is a smidgen more at 14.3mm.
It might not be the sexiest of selling points, but it does represent a feat of engineering that will ensure many people don’t have to regularly reach for an adapter. Both also weigh little over 1kg, making them extremely portable.
The regular ZenBook 13 and 14 are powered by a choice of Intel’s i3, i5, or i7 processors, alongside up to 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. There’s also a high-end version of the 14in model with an AMD Ryzen 7 processor and AMD Radeon graphics.
The screens come in at a resolution of 1920×1080, with slim bezels resulting in an impressive 88% and 90% screen-to-body ratio respectively.
There is still enough space for an HD webcam with Windows Hello support though, while the 67Wh battery comes with claims of up to 22 hours of battery life.
In addition to the generous port selection, the ZenBook 14 Flip shares many specs with its traditional clamshell siblings. This includes a new USB-C Easy Charge feature, which means you can take advantage of the fastest charging speeds with any adapter supporting Power Delivery.
Key differences here include no option for the low-end i3 processor, as well as a variant sporting Intel UHD graphics. The keyboard on the 14 Flip is not detachable, but can be rotated a full 360 degrees to suit your workflow. This allows for the regular stand, tablet and tent modes we have become accustomed to on convertibles.
Pricing is yet to be confirmed for all three models ahead of an expected Q3 2020 release date.
