Realme has launched the Watch, its first smartwatch, exclusively to the Indian market (via The Verge). The company has made massive strides in India and more recently the UK with good quality smartphones at incredibly competitive prices.
The Realme Watch retails for Rs. 3,999, which equates to just over £40. That is an insanely good price considering the device has a 1.4in LCD, heart rate sensor, smartphone notifications and fitness tracking. It also has a cricket tracker mode aimed squarely at the Indian market.
The design takes more than a few cues from the Apple Watch but its not the first, and it won’t be the last. The pebble-like body paired with the silicone strap and button closure is straight out of the Jony Ive playbook.
Perhaps more interestingly it looks like the watch is running a custom version of Android rather than Google’s WearOS. It goes on sale directly from Realme.com on 5 June.
