Despite being the world’s largest wearable maker, there’s a decent chance you haven’t heard of Huami. The Chinese manufacturer has ties to Xiaomi and even builds the company’s Mi Band fitness trackers, but it also releases offerings under its own Amazfit brand and the Amazfit Ares is the newest member to the family.
What is the Amazfit Ares?
Following on from the company’s first step into hard-wearing activity trackers, with the Amazfit T-Rex at the start of 2020, the Ares looks to be an even more competitively-priced watch that adopts a similar style and approach.
More of a multi-sport watch, the Ares is equipped to track 70 different activities and includes premium features like GPS and optical heart rate tracking, along with the company’s Firstbeat tracking algorithm.
Huami also says that the Ares will offer 14 days of standard use, up to 90 days in watch-only mode or last for 23 hours whilst using GPS tracking.
