If you have always considered getting into podcasting but either didn’t know where to begin or were daunted by the expense, then this new podcast starter kit from AKG could be right up your street.
The Podcaster Essentials Kit includes an AKG branded microphone, over-ear headphones, a copy of Ableton Live 10 Lite recording software, a four-part online course in recording and a set of audio cables. All of this from a respectable audio company like AKG comes in at £249, and will be available later in the month.
The coronavirus pandemic has meant million around the world are probably listening to more podcasts. This might have inspired a few people to start their own and it looks like AKG has been canny to offer a full kit in this way for a price that isn’t, in our opinion, outrageous.
You don’t get a laptop in the set, but if you’ve already got one then buying this will sort you out straight away. In a press release AKG said of the products included:
“The AKG Lyra is an ultra-HD, multi-mode USB microphone that delivers pristine 24-bit, 192 kHz audio quality, with four versatile capture modes suited to a wide range of recording applications. AKG K371 headphones provide clear, detailed sound with largest-in-class 50mm drivers and a closed-back design for superb sound isolation. Ableton Live 10 Lite is a streamlined audio production platform that allows users to quickly and easily record and edit professional podcasts.”
“The AKG Podcaster Essentials bundle provides everything creators need to transform their computer into a professional-quality podcasting studio,” added Chris Hansen, Director of Recording and Content Creation, HARMAN Professional Solutions.
On this evidence, we are inclined to agree.
