Microsoft has just revealed a bunch of games due for release on the Xbox Series X, either at launch or at some point in 2021. While the livestream only lasted little over half an hour, it was packed with new game announcements from the likes of EA and Codemasters, and ended with our first look at Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla gameplay ahead of release later this year.
There’s a lot to catch up on, and Microsoft has teased that there are hundreds of other games due to be released by the end of 2021, but we can save you the trouble of hunting for the trailers by listing each one right here.
Bright Memory Infinite
The livestream kicked off with our first look at the ultra-realistic-looking action-FPS Bright Memory Infinite, set in the year 2036.
Dirt 5
Dirt 5 was next up on the list, with developers teasing that the title is “a new chapter in the legacy of DiRT”. All the footage was captured in-game on the Xbox Series X, giving us a good idea of the level of quality to expect.
Scorn
Scorn is a bit of a strange one. Not much was revealed about the upcoming first-person horror game in the eerie cinematic trailer, but it looks intriguing to say the least.
Chorus
Set for release in 2021, Chorus is the latest in a long line of space-flight combat shooters. The reveal trailer showcases incredible environments, odd characters and a whole suite of upgrades available for your ship.
Madden NFL 21
This slightly nostalgic Madden NFL 21 trailer gives us a look at how the Madden series has improved over the years, and was revealed by none other than Kansas City Chief quarterback Patrick Mahomes II.
Vampyre the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2
While technically not a new title, we got a good look at some new Xbox Series X gameplay from the upcoming Vampyre title.
Call of the Sea
Call of the Sea is a first-person adventure game set in the South PAcific in the 1930s. Tasked with exploring a gorgeous island paradise in the hunt for your husband’s missing expedition, the trailer gives us a look at some weird and wonderful environments ahead of the yet-unannounced release.
The Ascent
Take the cyberpunk world of Cyberpunk 2077 and mix in some top-down shooting and you’ve got The Ascent. The trailer is a bit of a short one, but it’s packed full of gameplay.
The Medium
While there’s no gameplay and very little in the way of information in the trailer, The Medium looks to be a psychological treat.
Scarlet Nexus
Scarlet Nexus puts you in the shoes of an elite group of psionic soldiers that use telekinetic powers to kick some serious ass. Sporting a unique art style and classic hack-and-slash gameplay, this will likely be a bit with gamers when it’s eventually released.
Second Extinction
If you’re looking for some multiplayer FPS action, Second Extinction could be what you’re looking for. Work together with up to three friends to take down savage dinosaurs in a vast open world environment using a wide range of weapons and gadgets – what’s not to like?
Yakuza: Like a Dragon
While not a new game, we got our first look at Yakuza: Like a Dragon gameplay on the Xbox Series X, and confirmation that it’ll be a Day 1 launch title for the upcoming console.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
The show wrapped up by showcasing gameplay from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, due for release later this year. It’s not quite as in-depth as we were expecting, but we’re certainly excited to find out more about the open-world title in the coming months.
