Google’s 7in smart display, the Nest Hub (previously known as the Home Hub), just got an incredible £60 discount from the BT Shop. This drops the price to £59 and makes it the cheapest price for any smart display on the market.
Competitor devices like the Lenovo Smart Display, which is also powered by Google Assistant, start at £109.99 if you opt for the 7in model. Meanwhile, the Amazon’s Echo Show range starts at £79.99 if you opt for the Echo Show 5, which has a smaller 5.5in screen.
The Nest Hub uses two far-field mics which lets you use voice commands even if you aren’t physically close to the device. The benefit of the screen is you can access video and other visual content to complement your searches. For instance, in the kitchen you can use it look up recipes to watch or follow along, without having to touch the screen (we’re looking at you, newly inaugurated bread-makers)!
The Nest Hub is an “Ok Google”-prefaced query away from offering you helpful information like calendar, weather and traffic details of the day. With access to Google Photos it also doubles as a digital photo frame.
And of course, as a hub, it’s particularly useful if you own other smart devices, such as smart lighting or heating, and want to remotely control them by voice through a single device.
