LG likes to tease the design and specs of its phones before launch these days but it probably didn’t plan for an entire hands-on video of the upcoming LG Velvet to leak before its official launch on 7 May (via Android Authority).
A Korean YouTube channel posted the below video with unprecedented hands-on time with the device in what looks like a normal store display area.
The video clearly shows all four colour options, the phone being used with the LG Active Pen as it has stylus support, and a display section that clearly shows it will be offered with an optional Dual Screen accessory.
LG’s Android 10 software looks very similar to that found on the recent LG V60, but the Velvet’s curved edge display makes it an overall much sleeker phone. The ‘raindrop’ camera array on the back of the phone is also quite different to the blocky trends of 2020.
From the specs in Korean shown in the video, we can see that the 48Mp main camera, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, 4,300mAh battery, in-screen fingerprint sensor, wireless charging and ASMR recording mics are all here as rumoured.
We hope to review the Velvet when it drops, though availability outside of Korea is to be confirmed.
