The wireless earbud market shows no signs of slowing down and Huawei has announced a cheaper version of it’s in-ear headphone without dropping active noise cancelling. Enter the FreeBuds 3i.
Until recently, noise cancelling was a rare feature on true wireless earbuds but now it’s fairly easy to come across thanks to the likes of Sony, Apple and Libratone.
Generally you’ll have to pay a lot to get this key feature, but the FreeBuds 3i come in at just £89.
That’s not far off being half the price of Huawei’s flagship version and the noise cancelling is still there. In fact, the firm may have even improved performance in this area.
In our FreeBuds 3 review we said the noise cancelling was “far from perfect” due to the open design of the earbud. However, the 3i come with flexible silicon tips (in four sizes) so you can form a proper seal in your ear canal.
As well as ‘intelligent Active Noise Cancellation technology’, the FreeBuds 3i feature IPX4 water resistance, 10mm drivers, six microphones and capacitive sensors on both sides for touch control.
Priced at just £89 they could be the budget wireless earbuds you’ve been waiting for.
The FreeBuds 3i will go on sale from the Huawei Store on 20 May in Ceramic White. A Carbon Black option will then arrive on 17 June when the earbuds will go on sale at retail partners.
