Even though there has not been an official announcement, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has appeared for sale at Argos. The UK retailer’s online store is listing the S6 Lite for £39 in
Angora Blue and
The tablet comes bundled with an S-Pen and has a 10.4in display, making it a direct rival to Apple’s cheapest 10.2in that
starts at £349 and doesn’t come with a compatible Apple Pencil.
If the pricing here is accurate then it makes the S6 Lite much more affordable than the
Tab S6, which we reviewed but said was a little overpriced at £619.
The Tab S6 Lite has an Exynos 9611 chip, 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage, 8Mp camera and a 5Mp front-facing camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB-C port. The Argos listing also shows a book cover accessory (below) which is sold separately but is not listed so we don’t know the price.
The listing does look like it has some errors though such as the stated 840 hours standby time and 240 hours charging time.
If the listing is legitimate then this could prove to be a decent Android tablet for the price, though we still always recommend iPads unless you really hate iOS. iPads have much better software support, sometimes for five years, and have a better suite of apps in the App Store compared to what is available for Android tablets.
