Some may have been disappointed, me included, that the Galaxy Buds Plus didn’t come with active noise cancelling (ANC). However, the AKG N400 might just be the ticket and could even be cheaper.
AKG is one of Samsung’s audio brands and the N400 wireless earbuds have launched in South Korea, as spotted by TizenHelp. They’re available for 229,000 Won which converts to just £150 when the Galaxy Buds+ are £159.
The Galaxy Buds+ feature tuning by AKG.
Whether they will arrive in the UK at that price is another matter. We imagine the price would be closer to £200.
The N400 wireless earbuds can be adjusted via the AKG app means you can control the noise cancelling including features like Ambient Aware and TalkThru.
The Galaxy Buds+ improved over the original model to an impressive 11 hours.
In this area the N400 can’t compete offering six hours of music playing without ANC or five hours with. The case offers wireless charging and the site says “The Qi-certified wireless charging case is capable of fast charging that can last up to 1 hour with only 10 minutes of charging.”
However, the AKG offers a more robust IPX7 rating. The small print says they can withstand 30 minutes in fresh water at a 1m depth.
Touch controls mean you can control playback and the buds support Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Samsung Bixby. They come in three colours: blue, black and white.
