One of the biggest game releases of the year, and perhaps the last few years for some, is almost upon us. Half-Life: Alyx can’t come soon enough and you can get a free copy when you buy an HTC Vive Cosmos Elite.
The VR headset goes on sale today, 18 March, and splashing out £899 for it is rewarded with a free copy of Valve’s new game (normally £46.49) which has to be played using a virtual reality headset.
Don’t worry if you already pre-ordered the Cosmos Elite as the deal still applies.
Note that the free copy of Alyx comes in the form of a digital code in the box that will unlock the game on release day, 23 March. It can’t be redeemed in China, Thailand, Japan, Vietnam, India, Malaysia, Singapore or Ukraine.
The Vive Cosmos Elite includes a pre-installed External Tracking Faceplate, two SteamVR base stations, and two Vive controllers. You’ll then need a decent gaming PC or gaming laptop to run it.

“Half-Life: Alyx pushes the boundaries of immersive gaming with a breathtaking VR-experience, fraught with danger, thick with tension, battling against the Combine in life-or-death showdowns. I’m excited to see how people will enjoy it on VIVE Cosmos Elite.” said Graham Wheeler, general manager of EMEA, HTC Vive.
