There are two models. The standard retails for £549. For £599, you can get a deluxe version with a spinning mop attachment.
We reviewed this cordless cleaner and rated it 4.5 stars out of 5. At the moment, its specs are market-best for a cordless. It’s lighter than the Dyson V11. Its suction is excellent.
What really sets it apart, however, is the host of well-designed cleaning accessories that make vacuuming so much easier. It has a jointed attachment that allows you to create a 90-degree angle between the brush head and the machine, so you can easily clean the tops of shelves, cabinets and bookcases. It also has a telescopic column with four settings so you can adjust it exactly to your height and don’t need to stoop while vacuuming.
The Powerstick Jet has a removable battery, which you can take out and charge on the dock. You can also buy a spare. That means you have up to two hours of uninterrupted cleaning time. It makes this cordless a realistic option for large homes.
The Powerstick Jet has a HEPA filter and, in a nice design touch, the filter comes apart completely so it can easily be washed out. The dust bin capacity is only 0.5 litres, which is one of the only things about this cleaner that’s not ideal – you’re going to have to take relatively frequent breaks to empty it.
Our only other reservation about the Powerstick Jet relates to storage space. You will need a dedicated spot near a plug to set up the charging stand (the Z stand). And there it will stay, so you really need a utility room or a similar space. The stand is an integral part of the cleaner. It’s how you charge it and where you hang the (many) accessories. It’s also quite large and heavy, so you won’t be able to stick it in a cupboard and bring it out when the vac needs charging.
The £599 version of the Jet also features a spinning mop attachment. We tested this and we reckon it’s the first time that a vacuum cleaner mop has been any good. Not only that but we actually found it easier to use and gave better results than a standard mop.
