Sennheiser has announced a new pair of headphones to rival the AirPods Pro and Sony WF-1000XM3. The Momentum True Wireless 2 have upgrades including active noise cancelling, refined design and whopping 28 hour battery life.
Not many true wireless earbuds have active noise cancelling, although some might make you think they have it, but this is a key upgrade for the Momentum True Wireless 2. This digitally cuts out noise from around you and a Transparent Hearing feature lets you blend in outside ambient sound at a touch allowing you to have a conversation or hear announcements.
Battery life has been extended by a big margin, too. The original pair could manage four hours with two further charges from the case totalling 12 hours. The Momentum True Wireless 2 can last seven hours alone and a total of 28 when you factor in the charging case.
Despite longer battery life, Sennheiser has also made the buds 2mm smaller for improved comfort. They are have also IPX4-rated weather resistance, a metalic finish and customisable touch controls.
Other specs include 7mm drivers, Bluetooth 5.1 plus both AAC and aptX codecs.
“For 75 years, we at Sennheiser have been obsessed with shaping the future of audio and creating unique sound experiences for our customers. With the Momentum True Wireless 2, we now set out to redefine the standard for true wireless listening,” said Stephane Hareau, Global Head of Products Consumer at Sennheiser.
The Momentum True Wireless 2 will arrive in April priced at £279 in black, while the white colour variant will be available at a “later point”.
