The Valve Index VR will make a brief return to sale today, 9 March.
The virtual reality headset will be available exclusively on its Steam page from 6pm GMT.
Why is this big news? Well, it’s one of only a handful of VR headsets that will be compatible with Half-Life: Alyx, one of the most eagerly anticipated games of 2020. Its release on 23 March means gamers will have to move quickly to get everything they need.

In addition to the tweet above, Valve sent a message to Steam users who have expressed an interest in the headset, adding that “all purchases beyond this initial quantity will be fulfilled in the order in which they are received, as supplies increase over the coming months.”

Like much of the tech industry, Valve has been hit with supply chain issues as a result of the coronavirus. The limited stock it currently has will go on sale today, but such is the demand they are expected to sell out in a matter of hours.
Head to the Valve Index page on Steam from 6pm today to secure your headset.
