To coincide with the start of VidCon UK, Facebook is launching its Creator Studio app.
The desktop version has been available in 2018, offering tools for creators to manage pages and get insights into the performance of posts.
Now, the company aims to offer all that functionality to users on a mobile device. This includes detailed data and engagement metrics, notifications for milestones and support for multiple accounts.
The news comes on the first day of the video tech conference, held at London’s ExCel Centre.
For the first time, two executives from the company will be present to discuss the future of video. While Instagram co-founder Mike Krieger’s presence is not unexpected, company VP Fidji Simo joining him suggests Facebook will continue to invest heavily in content creation.
The initial launch of the Creator Studio coincided with the introduction of a dedicated Watch tab to its social network, which acts as a hub for video content on the platform. Facebook Originals such as Limetown and Sacred Lies have since gained popularity, due in part to being ad-supported and therefore free.
Now, with the influx of creators armed with little more than a powerful smartphone, Facebook has recognised the need to offer management tools on mobile devices.
The Creative Studio app will be available to download on iOS and Android from tomorrow.
