Xiaomi has posted a video (below) of its upcoming new smartwatch the Mi Watch Color. It comes shortly after the November launch of the Mi Watch, the company’s first smartwatch.
That square watch had a colour display, so we assume the ‘color’ branding of this new circular model references the various colourful silicone strap options the wearable appears to have.
While there is not much technical information, we reckon the Mi Watch Color will run the same skinned version of Google’s Wear OS and might be a preferable design for some – the regular Mi Watch looks an awful lot like the Apple Watch.
The Chinese version of the trailer shows the release date to be 3 January – so we expect more details from Xiaomi very soon, including as to whether the watches will see release outside of China.
Xiaomi expanded aggressively into the UK and Europe over the last two years but still reserves some of its new products for the Asian market. It is yet to officially sell phones in the US.
