Three months after its Chinese launch Xiaomi is officially unveiling its Mi Note 10 in the UK. You can now buy it direct from the UK Mi Store, with prices starting at £459.
That’s for the 128GB storage model, which will be available in Glacier White, Aurora Green, and Midnight Black. You’ll also be able to buy a 256GB model in Glacier White and Aurora Green at £549.
Exciting as this is, it’s not actually the cheapest price you’ll find for the phone. If you’re prepared to ship from China you’ll find a significant discount from our friends over at GearBest.
Here the 128GB model costs just £393.50 in all three colours, and if you apply the discount code GBXMNT10BF at checkout it will bring the price down to a tiny £343.14 – that’s nearly £120 off the UK retail price.
So where is the catch? This is the global model of the phone, so the software, hardware specifications and features are identical. Shipping from China to the UK, however, you will need to factor in the possibility that you will be required to pay import duty, and this is calculated at 20% of whatever value is printed on the shipping paperwork. Even so, it’s still cheaper from GearBest.
The Mi Note 10 is an incredible mid-range phone, and before the China-only announcement of Mi 10 was the world’s first 108Mp penta-lens cameraphone commercially available. Other specs include a 6.47in AMOLED Dot Drop display, the Snapdragon 730G processor, up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and a huge 5,260mAh battery that boasts 30W wired charging.
In our Mi Note 10 review we concluded that: “With Mi Note 10 Xiaomi has made a giant step forward in design, and complements its elegant body with enhanced MIUI 11 software. Its USP is the penta-lens 108Mp camera, which wows on paper but can’t stand up to the best cameraphones. More successfully, then, battery life is incredible. This is not a flagship phone, but it’s a strong all-round mid-ranger, and thanks to an attractive price point it has serious appeal.”
GearBest has earned our trust as a vendor that we have been using for many years to supply Xiaomi phones for review. It’s listing Mi Note 10 for £343.14 when you use coupon code GBXMNT10BF.
