Amid a slew of new product announcements at an event in Seattle, Amazon unveiled one that’s surprisingly simple: the Echo Dot with Clock.
The clue’s in the name really: this is almost identical to the third gen Echo Dot, but includes a white LED digital clock along one side – in response to the fact that “Alexa, what’s the time?” is one of the most common queries that Amazon’s digital assistant receives.
Technically the Dot with Clock does a little more than just show the current time. It will work with a number of other Alexa queries, so can be used to display a timer or show the current outside temperature visually. It will also improve the Dot’s functionality as an alarm clock, with a snooze function that you can trigger by tapping the top of the Dot if you keep it by your bedside.
Echo Dot with Clock price & release date
You can buy an Echo Dot with Clock from Amazon, and it costs £59.99/$59.99 – just £10/$10 more than the regular Echo Dot, which is £49.99/$59.99 – although it benefits from regular discounts.
It was released on 16 October 2019, and you can read our full Echo Dot with Clock review for our expert opinion.
