At the P30 launch in Paris, Huawei held one surprise for the end of the keynote: a Bluetooth headset that looks like a pair of sunglasses.
Designed by Gentle Monster, a fashion brand that’s well known in Asia, the glasses have no camera and instead aim to be a smart product users actually want to wear.
There are both sunglasses and regular glasses options, and we saw a couple of different frame designs.
They have a speaker and microphones built into each arm which allow you to make and receive phone calls. They’re IP67 water-resistant and have no button: you just tap to control them. Tapping also calls up your phone’s digital assistant.
You can charge the glasses wirelessly in a special case, or use the USB-C port.
Huawei says the glasses could go on sale in July this year, but there’s no word on price.
