All the big names in the motorcycling world are gathering at Silverstone this weekend for the British leg of the MotoGP 2019, including defending champion Mark Marquez. We’ll explain how you can catch all the action from the Motorcycling Grand Prix live in the UK or abroad.
When is the MotoGP 2019?
The MotoGP is an ongoing championship that ends in November. This weekend is the British leg, held at Silverstone, with the main event at 12.30pm on Sunday.

Can I watch MotoGP for free?
To watch MotoGP for free in the UK you will either need to take advantage of a three-month free trial of BT Sport (details below), or watch the highlights on Quest.
How to watch MotoGP 2019 in the UK or abroad
MotoGP can be watched live or on-demand via a MotoGP VideoPass, which costs €59.99 (approx £55). It’s available in a web browser or on Google Play or the App Store, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon FireTV or Roku.
Alternatively, BT Sport is where the Moto Grand Prix is at. With a full subscription you can download BT Sport to an Apple TV, Xbox or Samsung Smart TV, or stream it from your laptop, tablet or phone to a TV over Chromecast. You can watch live online via the BT Sport website, too.
BT Sport is included on a number of BT Broadband packages, so if you are already a customer check your account details. If you don’t have BT Sport but do already subscribe to BT Broadband or BT TV it will cost you £10 a month to add, following a three-month free trial.
You can also access the BT Sport channel through Sky TV or TalkTalk TV, though this is a more expensive option at £29.99 a month (£15 if you also subscribe to BT Broadband). If you have Virgin TV, as well as a V6 box and 4K TV, you can access BT Sport 4K UHD on this platform.
A cheaper but more limited option is to access BT Sport through the mobile app, which you can download from Google Play or the App Store and then log in with your BT ID. If you are a BT Mobile customer this will cost you £5 a month, or it’s free if your package includes 6GB or more of data ( add BT Sport here). Do note you will not be able to cast it to a larger screen or watch online; only on your smartphone through the BT Sport app.
The BT Sport mobile app is also available to EE customers as a Swappable Benefit. EE customers can access a three-month free trial by texting SPORT to 150. If you’re on a 5G plan you’ll get BT Sport HDR. To be eligible you must be an EE customer with a pay-monthly, 12-month SIM-only, tablet- or data-SIM plan. When the free trial ends you can cancel or move on to a subscription plan.
Plusnet customers can also access BT Sport via the app and online player for £5 a month. Sign up online or call 0800 432 0200.
