When is Pokkén Tournament DX coming out?
Pokkén Tournament DX was unveiled on 6 June, but we have to wait until 22 September for the game to be released for the Switch.
In the meantime a demo is now available to try in the Switch Eshop.
You can buy it now from Amazon for £42, or £44.99 at GAME.
What is the Pokkén Tournament DX gameplay like?
Pokkén Tournament started life as a game available to play in Japanese arcades before making its way onto the Wii U in 2015. Now, it’s set to arrive on the Switch and it looks bigger and better than ever.
Pokkén Tournament DX is a multi-player game that sees Pokémon battle against each other in a fighting style similar to that found in the Tekken games, which are made by the same developer Bandai Namco.
Multiplayer options will include using a JoyCon controller each on one device, or local wireless multiplayer with more than one Switch console. There’s also 3v3 team battles, online play and friend-only group matches.
Pokkén Tournament DX is set to get new playable Pokémon, including Sun and Moon’s Decidueye as well as Darkai, Scizor, Empoleon and Croagunk.
It’s not quite the Pokémon game we were hoping to get for the Switch, but it does look like it’s going to be lots of fun to play. (We had been hoping for the rumoured Pokémon Stars).
